WEBSITE REDESIGN
Concept/Design

The Business Intelligence team was looking to do a complete overhaul of their website. Confusion as to what Microsoft BI was and how it was structured ran rampant causing a drop off in both site traffic and sales.

The new 14 page site needed to be anchored by strong content that told a cohesive and straight forward story. I worked hand in hand with the content development team to ensure each page stood on it's own yet tied into the overall narrative.

Design was driven by a client mandate that we use components from a pre-existing SQL Server page. Layouts then became a real IA challenge and required heavy strategic planning as to what components would work on each page to tell the narrative whilst maintaining an organic look and feel.

Design moved from the original monotone grey towards a series of light grey tones and shapes to create an environment that was both open and inviting. Thematic icons for the marquee of each page referenced the BI look and feel and gave a visual cue as to the content of the page. A hierarchy of text sizes, call to actions, and tab driven systems were created to split up information and draw the eye from the marquees to the headers and into the page.
